This guide explains how to redirect a domain name directly to another or how to automatically send visitors from your website to another page address (internal or external URL).
You will need to take action either on the domain name itself (it must be hosted by Infomaniak, and its DNS must also be those of Infomaniak), or on the code present in your pages (htaccess page, homepage, etc.) if you have a website.

Acting on the Domain Name
via Web Redirection Tool
The tool available in the Manager allows you to easily act on the domain name (or subdomain) to redirect it to the Internet address of your choice.
via DNS changes or A record
Change the DNS of the domain name or modify its A/AAAA records to direct web traffic to another provider.
Acting on the Code of the Pages
via HTML code to insert
Insert this line of code between the <head>
and </head>
tags of your homepage (usually named index.html):
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=INSERT-HERE-NEW-URL">
Replace 5 with the desired waiting time in seconds (0 for an immediate effect).
Google search engine suggests using a server-side 301 redirect (see below). The W3C also advises against using it.
via PHP code to insert
If the site page has a .php extension, insert this function call at the top of the file:
header("refresh: 5; url=INSERT-HERE-NEW-PAGE-URL");
via .htaccess file
To redirect all traffic to your site (regardless of the called page) to another address, insert this in the .htaccess file at the root of your site:
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ INSERT-HERE-NEW-URL/$1 [R=301]
To target the page that needs to be redirected:
Redirect permanent /old_page.html insert destination URL here
Redirectpermanent, Redirect permanent, and Redirect 301 are equivalent commands.
Here is another example of redirecting a subpart to the homepage (this directive works with "deep links" unlike a permanent redirect):
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule "old/path/url "/" [L]
This guide explains how to import a calendar/schedule on Calendar.
Importing a calendar via a URL
You can display an existing calendar in Calendar that is managed externally. It will be automatically updated every hour via the URL you specify:
- Log in to Calendar (calendar.infomaniak.com), the calendars/schedules section of Mail Infomaniak, from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- Click on ⊕ (More) in the left sidebar
- Click on "From URL"
- Paste the URL of the calendar to be imported and check I want to subscribe to this calendar
- If necessary, choose the organization where the calendar will be imported
- Click on Import Calendar
You can also go directly through one of the organizations you are part of:
- Log in to Calendar (calendar.infomaniak.com), the calendars/schedules section of Mail Infomaniak, from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- Click on the action menu â‹® on the right of the organization in the displayed table
- Click on "From URL"
URL of a Google calendar
The "secret" URL of a Google calendar, which you can paste in step 3 above, is found in the settings of the Google calendar:
- Click on the action menu â‹® on the right of the relevant Google calendar
- Click on Settings and sharing:
- Scroll down the page until you get the secret iCal URL and click on the icons to view and/or copy the URL:
- Paste the URL following the procedure in step 3 of the previous chapter above
The calendar will be visible and regularly display any updates made, although it is not possible to edit it directly from the Infomaniak interface; it is a "unidirectional synchronization" with Google.
Importing a calendar via .ics
To access the Advanced Actions for importing, exporting, and restoring a calendar:
- Log in to Calendar (calendar.infomaniak.com), the calendars/schedules section of Mail Infomaniak, from a web browser like Brave or Edge
- Click on Advanced Actions in the left sidebar
- Click on Import
- Load the .ics file corresponding to the export from your previous provider
You can choose in which existing calendar to import the events or create a new schedule.
Exporting data from the previous provider
Here are guides provided for reference on exporting a calendar from a third-party provider, which will allow you to re-import this data with Infomaniak:
- Apple Mail
- Gmail
- Outlook (section Publish > ICS link)
- Yahoo
- Proton
- Thunderbird
This guide explains how to modify the URL of your website from the WordPress application installed on your Infomaniak Web Hosting (only if you have installed WordPress via Infomaniak tools).
This allows assigning a different domain name to WordPress.
Prerequisites
- the domain name to be used must be previously added as an alias to the main domain on the relevant site
Modify the address of a WordPress site
To change the address of the site created with Infomaniak WordPress, to another domain name that is already in the same client account:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon in the top right corner of the interface (or navigate using the left side menu, for example)
- choose Website (universe Web & Domain)
- click on the name of the relevant object in the displayed table
- click on WordPress & Apps in the left side menu
- click on the Configure button of the relevant WordPress
- under Site URL, select the desired web address from the dropdown menu:
- click on the Save button
Note: among the URLs listed in the dropdown menu, the preview URL allows accessing your WordPress in case the site's domain name is not yet correctly configured to point to your WordPress.
This guide explains how to view a site hosted by Infomaniak even if no domain name / URL is currently correctly configured to direct the visitor to this site.
This preview of the site can be done through a Preview URL and allows you to test a website before pointing a domain name that currently points elsewhere, for example.
This temporary URL provided by Infomaniak may change at any time and is available only with paid offers.
Get the Preview URL of your site
With the preview URL of your site, get the current version of your site in a browser regardless of whether the future corresponding domain name is not yet correctly configured:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate using the left side menu, for example)
- choose Website (universe Web & Domain)
- click on the name of the object in the displayed table
- the preview address is indicated under Preview URL (e.g., XXX.preview.infomaniak.website)
In case of problems
If, when visiting your preview address, the URL immediately changes to another, it could be a .htaccess file that you have modified to include rewrite rules. Disable it to test again.
With WordPress
If the preview URL always appears even though you have done what is necessary at the domain name level, you need to assign it the final address as the main address in your site's options.
Alternatives to preview your site
If you want to proceed differently than with the preview address provided by Infomaniak (see above), you can modify the hosts file on your computer (including with browser extensions like this one for Firefox). You will need the IP address of your site for this.
⚠️ For additional help, contact a partner or submit a bid — also read the role of the host
When your tests are completed or when the DNS of the domain name is up to date, do not forget to erase your possible modifications, otherwise it will be impossible to display your website if the server's IP address is changed or if the site is migrated to another hosting.
This guide explains how to modify the URL of your site containing a Web application (such as Prestashop or Joomla) installed on your Infomaniak Web hosting (via WordPress & Apps). If the application in question is WordPress, refer to this dedicated guide.
Prerequisites
- the domain name to be used must first be added as an alias of the main domain on the concerned site
Modify the address of a WordPress & Apps site
To change the address of the site created with an Infomaniak Web application, to another domain name that already exists in the same customer account:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) from a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the icon in the top right corner of the interface (or navigate through the left side menu, for example)
- choose Website (universe Web & Domain)
- click on the name of the object concerned in the displayed table
- click on WordPress & Apps in the left side menu
- click on the Configure button of the relevant application
- under Site URL, select the desired Web address from the dropdown menu:
- if you haven't followed the prerequisites above, the desired domain will not appear even if it's registered in the same organization:
- if you've added the domain as an alias of the site, the desired domain will appear and you can select it to replace the previous domain:
- if you haven't followed the prerequisites above, the desired domain will not appear even if it's registered in the same organization:
- click on the Save button
Note: among the URLs listed in the dropdown menu, the preview URL allows you to access your site in case the site's domain name is not yet correctly configured to point to your Web application.
Actions to be carried out
- open the Manager (Manager.Infomaniak.com)
- go to VOD/AOD
- click on the VOD space concerned
- in the left side menu click on Players
- under the video reader you use then under General Options
enable one of the sharing options.
Facebook
- If you enable the "Player embedded in Facebook" option, any user using the sharing button overlaid on your video will post your video directly on Facebook (Fig. 1) via an iframe, with viewers not being redirected to any site unless they click on the title under the video: then, the user is redirected to the URL set as the "Backlink" (Fig. 2).
- If you do not enable this option, what the user will post to Facebook is a block of information (Fig. 3) (thumbnail, title, description) linked to the video in question; the posted information can be edited in your Infomaniak control panel. This block of information is clickable and redirects to the URL you have set as the "Backlink" (Fig. 2). Any visitor clicking on it is then redirected to that URL, which will automatically have 2 parameters added to it: "folder" and "file" (Fig. 4), allowing the video owner to see that the visitor arrived at their site via Facebook and that they clicked on that video. By using the VOD API, they can easily deduce this information and, for instance, display just the required video on a specific page depending on where the video came from!
"Twitter Account Name" allows you to specify the Twitter username that will appear at the end of the message after the @ character.
"Twitter Backlink" allows you to specify a site URL, which will automatically have 2 parameters added to it allowing you to identify the video following redirection (folder=ID_FOLDER&file=ID_FILE) (Fig. 3).
"Related Twitter Accounts" allows you to suggest other Twitter accounts that people tweeting might follow".

This guide is about UTM tags, or Urchin Tracking Module, which are tags added to URLs to track and analyze the performance of online marketing campaigns from the Infomaniak Newsletter tool.
What do UTM tags do?
These optional tags are composed of specific parameters such as source, medium, campaign, term, and content, which help identify the source of link traffic. By using UTM tags, marketers can understand which campaigns generate traffic, which channels are most effective, and which ads or strategies work best, based on data collected by web analytics tools.
UTM tags allow for a correlation between the links in your newsletters and the Google Analytics tracking of your site.
Using this feature
In step 1 of creating your Newsletter, you will find three fields for entering utm_parameters keywords:
- Campaign source (utm_source)
- Campaign medium (utm_medium, for example, email)
- Campaign name (utm_campaign = your campaign name)
So:
- Fill in the 3 UTM fields in step 1 of your Newsletter creation.
- Insert a link to your website URL (which must be correctly configured and analyzed by Google Analytics) in the body of the Newsletter in step 3.
- When the reader clicks on it, they will arrive at the URL followed by the terms "?utm_source=...&utm_medium=...&utm_campaign=..." with your keywords replacing "...," of course.
If you enter multiple keywords in these fields, any spaces will be replaced by underscores (_).
In the future, it is planned to be able to enter dynamic formulas in these fields, such as the current date, for example.

This guide explains how to make online ticketing available so that visitors can place their orders.
Accessing the Integration Menu
- Login to your Infomaniak space (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to Ticketing
- From the left menu, under Shop / Online Publishing, click on Integration
Generating URL Parameters to the Ticketing
The parameters at the top of the page allow you to generate a link specific to the desired elements. They allow you to choose the elements displayed on the generated link.
- The period: to select the ticketing in case there are several, and to restrict access to this ticketing alone
- The language: to force a default language
- The elements to display on the link. This option allows you to restrict access to certain elements of your ticketing. You can display everything, display a choice of elements, or choose elements according to location.
- Expand default zones or not
- Show or hide elements at the top and bottom of the page. If enabled, it will only show the purchase tunnel.
- Limit payment methods. Allows you to choose the payment methods that will be available to customers on the generated link.
Integration via iframe or with a button
It is possible to create buttons or integrate the ticketing directly on your website using the methods indicated in the usage examples.
Our support will only respond to questions related to Infomaniak Ticketing, and we will not be able to provide support for web development
Advanced Integration via API
API integration allows you to integrate the ticketing directly into your site. To do this, you will need to create an API key and follow the documentation
