Access the server via FTP with an application
This guide explains how to manage files on a Web Hosting using FTP software such as Filezilla or Cyberduck.
Unless specifically required otherwise, it is recommended to manage your Web Hosting files using FTP Manager online; it supports functionalities like CHOWN and ZIP compression/decompression directly on the file server.
FTP Software Configuration Parameters
Regardless of your FTP client, the 3 essential parameters to configure FTP access are always:
- FTP server name / FTP hostname:
- in the form of
xyzb.ftp.infomaniak.com
for example - or
123.45.678.123
(refer to this guide regarding IPv4 addresses for sites)
- in the form of
- FTP username
- the FTP account name created on your Manager:
xyzb_usernam3
for example
- the FTP account name created on your Manager:
- FTP user password
- set by the FTP account creator
You can find all these parameters on the Manager:
- log in to the Infomaniak Manager (manager.infomaniak.com) using a web browser like Brave or Firefox
- click on the ‍ icon at the top right of the interface (or navigate via the left side menu)
- select Hosting (under Web & Domain section)
- click on the relevant object name in the displayed table
- select FTP / SSH from the left-hand side menu
