Do you have any questions or doubts?

We’ve compiled the questions we’re often asked – see below.

  • The storage space available means that any type of machine can be backed up as long as it can support a compatible software (OpenStack Swift / S3 / SFTP), including Linux / Windows servers and NAS Synology.

  • Swiss Backup can be used with, but is not limited to, the following software packages as long as they are compatible with OpenStack Swift / S3 / SFTP:

    Cyberduck - Swift (Keystone 3)

    Hyper Backup - NAS Synology

    rClone - Swift (Keystone 3)

    Duplicati - Swift (Keystone 3)

    CloudBerry - S3

    FileZilla - SFTP

Mountain Duck - Swift (Keystone 3)

  • S3 is an Amazon product and as such, it includes ‘functions' which do not relate to Swift itself. For example, Swift has nothing to do with invoicing, whereas the S3 buckets can be linked to the Amazon invoicing system.

Swiss Backup therefore uses the S3 protocol compatible with all headers and operations compatible with it.

  • There is a Swiss Backup extension on Jelastic which allows backups to be made via your Jelastic dashboard directly.
