What is TTFB?
TTFB or Time to First Byte is a measurement unit used to evaluate the speed of response of a web server. TTFB measures the time between an HTTP request from a user or browser and the receipt of the first byte of the site page to be accessed. This delay is particularly important, as it may be part of the SEO criteria considered by search engines like Google.
Improvement Suggestions for TTFB
To speed up the site and achieve a better TTFB value:
- Use a Content Delivery Network (CDN)
- Optimize the website code
- Optimize database queries
- Limit HTTP requests
- Incorporate CSS and JavaScript into your HTML pages to avoid external resource calls
- Use an RFPL (Response First, Process Later) cache system

Testing Server Response Speed
If there is doubt about the server response speed, it is possible to create a file: "index2.html" which will be saved at the same level as the file: "index.html/php" and thus perform an optimization test (e.g. domain.xyz/index2.html) without the main site/CMS being taken into account.
If the response time is normal, it means that the slowness comes from the site and not from the server.
