Default home pages picked up by the server
In order of priority, here are the pages that are loaded as default from your hosting space when you type your domain name into your browser:
- index.html
- index.htm
- home.html
- home.htm
- default.html
- default.htm
- index.cgi
- index.php
- index.php5
- index.php4
- index.php3
- default.php
- home.php
- welcome.php
When you type "www.your-domain-name.xxx" into the browser, only "index.php" will be shown automatically (and you will need to enter the exact page name to show "welcome.php").
You can specify other index pages by adding "DirectoryIndex" followed by the pages in question to your web/.htaccess file. For example:
<code>DirectoryIndex file.php file.html </code>
