Solve a kMeet audio problem
This guide helps you solve any audio problems with kMeet , the ethical videoconferencing solution offered by Infomaniak.
1. (Re)authorize multimedia on computer
By going to the kMeet Settings at the top right of your screen ( the cog wheel ) you will (re)activate requests for authorization to access multimedia functions:
- access to a microphone (choose the device that suits you)
- access to the camera if there is one

- You can also check that a padlock in the address bar of your browser is not blocking your multimedia access by simply clicking on this padlock.
2. Check multimedia on smartphone
If you have installed kMeet on iPhone
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security
- Tap a hardware feature, like “Camera,” “Local Area Network,” Bluetooth, or Microphone
- Check the settings related to kMeet in the list of apps
- Then go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Security Control
- Tap "Manage Shares & Access," tap Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions to see if a setting might be interfering with kMeet
If you have installed kMeet on Android
- On your phone, open the Settings app
- Tap Apps
- Find kMeet otherwise tap Show all apps then select your app
- Tap Permissions
- Tap a permission setting to edit it, then select Allow
3. Windows Utility for Audio Problems
- First try to access the Windows settings section Privacy .
- Check that the accesses are activated in particular "Allow applications to access the camera" and "Choose Microsoft Store applications that can access the camera"
- Enable “Windows Search”, “Camera” and “Application Connector”
- For the microphone, follow the same steps
If it still doesn't work:
- Go to Searchin the taskbar, type Audio troubleshooter , then select Find and fix audio playback problems from the results to launch the troubleshooter
- Select Next , then select the device you want to troubleshoot, then continue to the troubleshooter
4. Join the current meeting with a different device
If you encounter an audio/video problem during a kMeet meeting, join it from another device.
Were you on a computer? Use your smartphone! Or the opposite...
- On the meeting in progress with your problem device, invite a new participant in order to obtain the meeting code
- From a new device, open a web browser (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.)
- Go to https://kmeet.infomaniak.com
- Click Join Meeting
- Enter the meeting code (https://kmeet.infomaniak.com/ followed by the letters of the meeting link); example:
5. Disable WebRTC in Firefox
As a last resort, test Firefox with WebRTC disabled to access your kMeet meeting:
- Open Firefox
- Type in the Firefox address bar about:config
- Find the media.peerconnection.enabled parameter . To avoid performing the search manually, it is possible to type this parameter in the search box
- Pass it to “ false ”
- Access the meeting via a kmeet.infomaniak.com link as indicated in chapter 4
