Save a kMeet meeting to kDrive

This guide explains how to start recording an online meeting organized with kMeet, Infomaniak's ethical and free video conferencing solution, to obtain a video recording of the session stored on kDrive Infomaniak.

 

Introduction

  • Video recording
    • takes place on the server side
    • does not generate any load on the participant's computer that initiated it
    • is in .mp4 video format
    • has a maximum duration of 3 hours.
  • The video will not be available until someone manually stops the recording.

 

Record a kMeet meeting as a video on kDrive

Prerequisites

To record the meeting on kDrive:

  1. Start kMeet via kmeet.infomaniak.com or from one of the apps for desktop and mobile devices.
  2. Click on the ◉ Start recording icon.
  3. Enable video recording and the text summary feature if needed.
  4. Log in to your Infomaniak account:
  5. Select a kDrive to save the video conference to.
  6. Then click the button to start the video – an audio message will notify participants that the recording has begun:
  7. To stop the video recording, click Stop recording:
  8. Confirm:
  9. Choose whether you want to go to the location of the recording on kDrive:
  10. The file is saved in the root directory of the selected kDrive:
