Outlook 2019: configuring the messaging service (IMAP)
This guide explains how to configure an email address hosted by Infomaniak with Microsoft Outlook 2019 messaging software.
Setting up an email account
Open Microsoft Outlook 2019
If necessary, go to File:
Click Add an account:
Enter the email address you want to use (it must be previously created in the Manager).
At the bottom of the window that appears, under Advanced Options, tick the Configure my account manually box and confirm:
Choose IMAP as the type of account to use:
Enter the password for the email address:
Enter the IMAP / SMTP server information:
In case of a problem
Outlook may request the password several times, which is "normal". In order to be sure to enter your password several times correctly, please test it first.
If a problem persists with an error indicating that you cannot complete the configuration, try the Win + R shortcut and type control panel to open the configuration panel. Then, type Email in the search box at the top right. You should see Email (Microsoft Outlook 2016) (32-bit), which will allow you to access another interface to add an account. Then follow the parameters communicated at the bottom of our FAQ https://faq.infomaniak.com/1075 and do not forget to go to Additional Settings to change the SMTP port.
