We pollute,
but we’re taking action
Our model is globally recognised for minimising the digital footprint

Electricity isn't the biggest source of pollution.
It is the purchase of new servers.
Check out our case studyBecause our data centers run on renewable electricity and are cooled by outside air or by cool air derived from the heat recovery process, the environmental impact of using our servers is minimal. It takes 7 to 10 years of operation to reach the level of emissions generated during their manufacturing.
That is why we extend the service life of our servers to 15 years. This is a demanding industrial choice: more expensive, scalable hardware that is maintained over time rather than replaced.
The performance and reliability of our services are ensured by means of service redundancy and our cloud infrastructure, which allows us to allocate resources on demand.

Carbon neutral since 2007, we offset 200% of our total CO2 emissions.
And we do much more than that.
We have taken action to reduce our environmental footprint.
Since 2007.
We innovate to create energy-efficient and sustainable infrastructure.

Heat production
Since 2025, the electricity consumed by our new data centers has not been wasted: all year round, it is entirely converted into heat in order to heat homes.

Solar power production
Infomaniak is developing a solar power production system designed in Europe to power its infrastructure and increase the share of renewable energy in an energy mix that remains heavily reliant on fossil fuels.

At the forefront of energy efficiency
Since 2013, our data centers have been cooled using filtered outside air, without the need for dedicated artificial cooling for the servers. With an average PUE of less than 1.1, they rank among the world’s most energy-efficient facilities.
Energy efficiency of infrastructure
We use only highly energy-efficient servers and efficiency-optimised power inverters, significantly reducing electricity consumption and associated losses.
Streamlined software and resource optimization.
We are constantly optimising server resource allocation and software eco-design in order to deliver more services with fewer servers, without compromising performance.
Support for the Swiss power grid
The generators at our data centers contribute to Swissgrid’s balancing mechanisms, feeding energy into the grid locally during tests and helping ensure the stability of the Swiss power grid.
Renewable energy
All our operations are powered exclusively by certified renewable electricity, consisting of hydropower and other local renewable sources with high environmental value.
Life is about making things that are sustainable, at least for a company.

Founder of Infomaniak
Our commitments are subject to public standards.

Certified environmental management
Since 2015, ISO 14001 certification has guided our environmental management efforts in order to measure, control and sustainably reduce the environmental impact of our operations.
Certified energy management
Boasting ISO 50001 certification since 2015, Infomaniak continuously improves its energy performance through dedicated management, constant monitoring and the integration of eco-design into its services.
Publicly reported and audited emission measurement
Our greenhouse gas emissions are measured annually across scopes 1, 2, and 3 in accordance with international standards, audited by an independent third party and used to guide tangible reduction efforts.
We extend the life of our equipment rather than replacing it.
We reject overconsumption as an economic model.

CO2 offsetting
Emissions that we cannot avoid are offset twice over – 100% in Switzerland and 100% internationally covering, in particular, server manufacturing, electricity consumption and staff travel.
Protecting biodiversity
We dedicate 1% of our growth to organisations that take concrete action to promote social justice, protect biodiversity, regulate harmful industries and implement more ambitious climate policies.
Responsible purchasing
Whenever possible, we prioritise simple, sustainable and locally sourced equipment and select suppliers who are committed to reducing the environmental impact of our supply chain.
Sustainable mobility policy
We promote soft mobility through financial incentives, electric bicycles and reduced business travel and by avoiding air travel whenever alternatives are available.
Responsible investments
Since 2009, our collective Nest Fondation pension fund has applied strict ethical criteria, excluding the armaments industry and child labour in favour of sustainable investments.
Responsible business practices
We reject practices that encourage overconsumption and do not participate in Black Friday, choosing instead to foster a sustainable and responsible business relationship with our customers.
We can’t save the world by following the current rules, because the rules need to be changed. Everything has to change, and it has to start today.
