Link a domain name to Infomaniak Web Hosting
This guide explains how to link a domain name to an Infomaniak Web Hosting.
Where Is Your Domain Name Located?
At Infomaniak, Same Customer Account
If your domain name is registered with Infomaniak and it is in the same customer account as the website, then there is nothing to do.

At Infomaniak, Different Customer Account
If your domain name is registered with Infomaniak but in a different customer account than the website, then:
- edit its DNS zone by specifying the site's IP address in the form of A record and wait a maximum of 48 hours
OR
Elsewhere, with External DNS
If your domain name is registered with another registrar and the DNS is not from Infomaniak, then:
- Edit the current DNS zone (if necessary, consult the provider's help) by specifying the site's IP address in the form of A record and wait a maximum of 48 hours
OR
- Change the current DNS (if necessary, consult the provider's help) by specifying ours (this implies having a DNS zone with Infomaniak; it will be configured correctly, but you will need to check and correct any potential errors using this guide)
Elsewhere, but You Want to Bring It Back
If your domain name is registered with another registrar and you want to bring it to the same place as your Infomaniak email:
- transfer the domain name to Infomaniak (it will be configured correctly, but you will need to check and correct any potential errors using this guide)
If the domain name is intended to be an alias of your main site, you need to add the alias to your site.
