Management of Public Cloud users
This guide explains how to manage users for your Public Cloud project.
Public Cloud users
We will see below that to access the resources of a project, it is necessary to create OpenStack type users.
These OpenStack users have no relation with the users of the Infomaniak Manager.
- The username is generated automatically and is communicated once it has been created.
- These OpenStack users are linked to one project and cannot, therefore, access several projects.
- All the operations relating to the users (add, modify, delete, etc.) are asynchronous and may sometimes take several minutes to be completed.
Create a user for your Public Cloud
To create an OpenStack user once your Public Cloud has been ordered:
- open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- go to Public Cloud
- if necessary, click on the Cloud concerned
- create a new Project
- the user defined when creating your project will take the format PCU-XXXX and you can allocate them a description for your ease of use
Management of user passwords
The OpenStack user password can be set immediately when created or generated at a later time by means of a link sent by email to the address of your choice.
To change this subsequently:
- open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- go to Public Cloud
- if necessary, click on the Cloud concerned
- click on Manage in the Users column of the project concerned
- click on the menu to the right of the user concerned to access the password modification process
Add a new user to a project
To add other users to your project:
- open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- go to Public Cloud
- if necessary, click on the Cloud concerned
- click on Manage in the Users column of the project concerned
- click on Add an OpenStack user at the top of the page
Delete a user
To delete an existing user:
- open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- go to Public Cloud
- if necessary, click on the Cloud concerned
- click on Manage in the Users column of the project concerned
- click on the menu to the right of the user concerned to delete them
The OpenStack user is deleted immediately and permanently.
