Renew or restore a domain name
This guide explains how to renew or restore a domain name that was initially registered with Infomaniak.
Renewing a domain name
You are automatically contacted by email when a domain name is due to expire.
To renew a domain name which is due to expire soon, the easiest thing is to use this service: https://www.infomaniak.com/en/support/invoice-payment
If necessary, you also have the option of renewing your domains via the Manager.
Restoring a domain name
If a domain name has not been renewed before its expiry date, it enters a redemption period during which you can still recover/restore it. The fees for restoring and the duration of this period vary depending on the extension concerned. Once the redemption period has passed, the domain name is free and can be reserved again by anyone.
To restore a domain during its redemption period:
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to Domain name
- If necessay, click the domain name in question
- Click Restore
- Finish the process
What should you do if you cannot see the domain in your account?
- Check you have logged in to the right client account
- Check under the DOMAIN heading of your Manager and not under a heading for invoiced products or those to be renewed
- Repurchase the domain in question if it has not been reserved in the meantime
And then?
