Lite Sync kDrive Windows
This guide details the Lite Sync option of kDrive under Windows.
Presentation
The Lite Sync feature frees up storage space on your Windows computer that is used by your files on your kDrive . Thus your files are accessible without constraint from the Web version of
kDrive and it is always possible to consult your files locally by downloading them beforehand. This limits the risk of saturating the available space on your computer.

- 64-bit (ARM64 compatible)

If you manage several Drives from your kDrive desktop application , it will be necessary to activate Lite Sync for each Drive. It is quite possible to have a Drive for which Lite Sync is activated and another for which it is not.

- a kDrive folder will be created on your machine (it is possible to rename it when it is created) and it will be accessible from the file explorer

b. if the folders of the selected kDrive do not fill them then an error message will appear and the Lite Sync will not be activated
5. the icon is displayed in front of your kDrive to indicate that Lite Sync is activated. If this icon
is displayed, it means that Lite Sync is not activated.

- left-click on
the kDrive app from your computer's notification area (bottom right on Windows )
- click on the icon
on the far right in the application and select kDrive Settings

- if there is enough space on your computer a message confirming the deactivation is displayed, just click on Continue
- if there is not enough space on your computer, a message will indicate the missing space to allow the deactivation of Lite Sync. The synchronization of your kDrive will be paused while selecting the files to synchronize on your computer.

"Dehydration" of files
A dehydrated file is a Lite Sync file that has not been synced. Therefore, instead of having a "real" document behind, a 1 KB shortcut is displayed.
The application directly blocks the import of this type of file/document. To resolve these errors, you will have to re-download the file from kdrive.infomaniak.com.
