Update the password for your email address in Apple Mail (macOS / iOS)

This guide explains how to update the password for a mail address on your device after you have changed it from an Infomaniak Mail Service.

 

Introduction

 

Apple Mail (macOS)

To access the password settings (refer to the complete guide if needed):

  1. Open the Mail application.
  2. Click on the Mail menu at the top left.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Click on Accounts.
  5. Make sure the relevant account is selected.
  6. Click on the Server Settings tab.
  7. Enter the IMAP password.
  8. Enter the SMTP password, then check the other settings, such as the port number, etc.
  9. Click the Save button:

 

iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.)

Here's how to access the password settings (refer to the complete guide if needed):

  1. Open the iPhone Settings and tap Apps:
  2. In Apps, tap Mail:
  3. Tap Mail Accounts:
  4. Tap the account associated with your Infomaniak email address:
  5. Tap on Account settings:
  6. Update the password in the Incoming Server section.
  7. Tap on the SMTP server in the Outgoing Server section to update the password or resolve an issue with a missing SMTP server, for example:
  8. Tap on the server associated with your Infomaniak email address (or if it is missing, tap on Add a server below and configure it according to these instructions):
  9. Tap ON to enable the SMTP server if necessary.
  10. Update the password and verify all settings, including password authentication.
  11. Click Confirm in the top right corner:
  12. The SMTP account is now correctly activated:
