Access a FritzBox with DynDNS (Dynamic DNS)

Update 03/10/2026

This guide explains how to access a Fritzbox connected to the Internet with a dynamic IP via a domain name.

Prerequisites

Link a Fritz!Box to a domain name

To do this:

  1. Open the Fritzbox management interface by activating the Advanced mode if necessary.
  2. Go to Internet then Access Authorization.
  3. Click on the Dynamic DNS tab:
    sign

  4. Choose the provider: “Custom”.
  5. Fill in the following fields:
    • Update URL (as shown below, or by replacing ipaddr with ip6addr if you want Fritzbox to replace the "placeholder" with the IPv6 address instead of the IPv4): https://infomaniak.com/nic/update?system=dyndns&hostname=<domain>&myip=<ipaddr>
    • Domain name: the "URL" configured in the Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS
    • Username: the "identifier" defined in the Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS
    • Password: the "password" defined in the Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS
  6. Click on Apply to finish.

If needed, local partners referenced by Infomaniak can handle these procedures: launch a free call for tenders; they take care of everything, freeing you from technical details.
