Jelastic offers an add-on that allows you to install packages requiring sudo permissions without needing root access.

The Yum Packages Installer add-on allows you to install packages not provided by default in Jelastic containers (RPM packages, development tools, etc.) using yum. It offers an alternative to install packages when direct root access is not available.

All the required information to use this add-on is described in the readme of the add-on.

Examples of common actions performed via the add-on:

• Install compilation tools: gcc autoconf make
• Install an external RPM: provide the full URL of the RPM in the installation field.
