Create a new email address within a Mail Service

This guide explains how to create an email address from the Infomaniak Mail Service, the powerful and secure solution for hosting your email addresses.

Create an address on a Mail Service

Prerequisites

  • Have a Mail service on your Infomaniak Manager (❓: help).
  • Be an Administrator or Legal Representative within the Organization (❓: help).
  • Have available free email address slots or adjust the quota beforehand if necessary (❓: help).

Next, to create a new email address:

  1. Click here to access the management interface for your Mail Service in the Infomaniak Manager (❓: help).
  2. Click directly on the name assigned to the Mail Service in question:
  3. Click on the blue Create a mail address button in the top right corner:
  4. Enter the name that will make up the email address.
  5. Click the button to continue:
  6. Select the creation mode that suits your needs:
    1. An address for you or other users [ ☍ ]

      • Example: make the address directly visible in your Mail interface, or send invitations so that others can use it.
    2. A secondary (alias) address [ ☍ ] that will not be counted against your main quota

      • You must have a primary email address to which the new alias will be linked.
    3. An address that is only used to forward emails [ ☍ ] and will not be counted against your main quota

      • You will not be able to send messages from this address, but only forward incoming emails to the existing address of your choice.
  7. Click the button to continue after making your choice.

 

Additional actions (button ‍)

Click on the chevron ‍ to the right of the Create a mail address button to access additional actions:

  1. Create a generic email address of the following type:
    1. no-reply (for sending confirmations, validations, invoices, etc.)
    2. catchall (allows you to receive all messages for which there is no specific email address on your domain)
  2. Create multiple email addresses: allows you to create multiple email addresses at once using a CSV file.
  3. Create “virtual” addresses to serve as redirects.
  4. Import content from other email addresses.
