Streaming audio: using Edcast standalone
This guide details the configuration of the streaming server program Oddsock Edcast, a Windows software formerly known as Oddcast. It is available as a Winamp plugin, a Foobar plugin, or as a standalone version, as presented here.
Streaming with Edcast Standalone
- Click here to download the Edcast standalone pack with AAC+ and MP3 codecs
- Click on edcast_standalone_3.1.21.exe to install it with the default options
- Copy the files from the codec directory of the edcast_infomaniak_pack to the Edcast directory that has been installed on your computer (usually C:\Program Files\Edcast)
- Open Edcast and select the source (drop-down menu under Live Recording)
- Click on the VU meter (Peak Meter)
- Below, add an encoding by clicking on Add encoder
- Click on the encoding added by default (fig.2)
- Configure it according to the Infomaniak stream (fig.3 and 4, for example)
- Do not touch the last Advanced Settings tab
- Finish configuring this stream by clicking the OK button
- Restart Edcast (close it and open it again)
- Click the Connect button to start streaming
