Export all e-mails from an e-mail address
This guide explains how to export the content of an email address hosted by Infomaniak. This way, you can backup your emails in a single archive that can be easily restored.
Infomaniak does not offer export (such as PST), but it keeps your emails without limits* for the duration of your contract and with built-in backups.
⚠️ Infomaniak's email is compatible with any application that supports IMAP/SMTP. For additional assistance, contact the support of the software used or a partner — also, read about the role of the host.
Manual Export
Microsoft Windows
- Install the free software Thunderbird.
- Configure the relevant email address as IMAP (to include subfolders).
- Ensure that all content is present.
Then, either install the free software BackupThunderbird, which allows creating an archive (encrypted if necessary) and future restoration, or you can simply display hidden files in Windows and find and back up this profile folder:
C:\Users\{USER}\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\{PROFILE_USER}\
Download Emails Locally
Another solution (not recommended) could be to configure email software to receive messages via the POP3 protocol, which will download messages locally. Only the inbox is affected.
