Manage publication and draft in Site Creator

Update 03/26/2026

This guide explains how to avoid publishing changes directly to a page on Site Creator by Infomaniak.

Preamble

  • The draft mode allows you to avoid publishing the following changes:
    • adding a new content block via the Content menu
    • visual or textual modifications to a content block
    • deletion of a content block
  • The draft mode does not apply to:
    • global design changes, via the Design menu (colors, fonts, etc.)
    • modifications to content related to applications (questions/answers, e-commerce, etc.)
    • modifications to global settings, via the Settings menu (Pages, languages, etc.)
    • subpages of the page you are unpublishing

1. Save without publishing

Prerequisites

  • Access Site Creator:
    • Click here to access the management of your product on the Infomaniak Manager (need help?).
    • Click directly on the name assigned to the relevant Site Creator.
    • Click the Edit my site button to start the editor:

You can switch a page to draft mode to make text changes or other modifications to the content of a page that will not be visible live until you decide to switch the site back to direct publishing mode:

  1. Click the button ... located at the bottom of the left sidebar to expand the publishing and preview options.
  2. Click Live to switch to Unpublished mode:
  3. Now, the yellow mode displayed at the bottom indicates that all your modifications (on this page only) will not be visible live (unlike the Live mode) as they will not be published automatically:
    • The modifications will be saved in a draft even if you leave the page or the editor...
    • In draft mode, you can work on the page, add text, save it, leave, come back to continue editing, and this work will not be published until you explicitly decide to do so (read below):
    • Depending on the modifications made (e.g., adding a content block), remember to edit the text to validate your changes and save them.
    • To verify and confirm that your ongoing modifications are not being published as you go, simply go to your site's address from another browser page in incognito mode, for example.

2. Publish the modifications or delete the draft

You can exit the mode Draft to return to instant publishing:

  1. When the Unpublished mode is active, click the yellow button of the Unpublished mode to display a settings panel:
  2. The settings panel opens so that you can:
    1. publish your changes,
    2. or delete the current draft and revert to the initial state of the page:

Example

  1. With the Live mode (visible at the bottom of the screen) a modification is directly visible to the page visitors.
  2. With the Unpublished / Draft mode (identifiable by a yellow symbol at the bottom of the pages switched to this mode) your modifications are not visible live.
  3. Leave the page to work on another page, the mode reverts to the default mode, that is, the Live mode because the page is not the same and the mode only applies to the chosen pages.
  4. Return to the page saved as a draft, a symbol at the bottom of the page always indicates the draft mode activated.
  5. Click on it to choose to publish or delete the changes and restore the page as it was before your changes in draft mode.
