Update the email password on Apple Mail (macOS / iOS)

This guide explains how to update the password of an email address on your device after changing it from an Infomaniak Mail Service.

 

Preamble

  • The various services offered by Infomaniak are all compatible with the corresponding standard protocols (IMAP/SMTP for email, for example). Therefore, if you encounter a problem with third-party software, contact its publisher or a Partner and consult the support policy as well as section 11.9 of the Infomaniak Terms and Conditions.

Apple Mail (macOS)

To access the password settings (refer to the complete guide if necessary):

  1. Open the Mail application.
  2. Click on the Mail menu at the top left.
  3. Click on Settings.
  4. Click on Accounts.
  5. Check that the relevant account is selected.
  6. Click on the Server Settings tab.
  7. Enter the IMAP password.
  8. Enter the SMTP password, then check the rest of the parameters, port number, etc.
  9. Click the Save button:

 

iOS (iPhone, iPad, etc.)

Here's how to access the password settings (refer to the complete guide if necessary):

  1. Open your iPhone's settings and tap Apps:
  2. In Apps, tap Mail:
  3. Tap Mail Accounts:
  4. Click on the account associated with the Infomaniak email address:
  5. Click on the account settings:
  6. Update the password in the Incoming Server section.
  7. Click on the SMTP server in the Outgoing Server section to update the password or resolve an issue with a missing SMTP server, for example:
  8. Click on the server associated with the Infomaniak email address (or if it is missing, click below on Add a server and configure it according to these instructions):
  9. Click ON to activate the SMTP server if necessary.
  10. Update the password and check all settings, including password authentication.
  11. Click on Validate at the top right:
  12. The SMTP account is now correctly activated:
