Create or delete an email address
This guide explains how to create an email address from the Infomaniak Mail Service , our powerful and secure solution for hosting your email addresses.
To create several, in batch, follow this guide .
Prerequisites
- Have a Mail Service on your Infomaniak Manager
+ a quota of free addresses available or order one if necessary:
- connect to your Infomaniak space ( manager.infomaniak.com )
- go to
Service Mail
- click on the Mail Service/domain name concerned
- at the very top right click on the supermarket shopping cart:
Create an email address
If you have not yet added an email address to your Mail Service and/or if you have not yet used all the email addresses available:
- connect to your Infomaniak space ( manager.infomaniak.com )
- go to
Service Mail
- click on the Mail Service/domain name concerned
- at the top right click on the Create an email address button
A wizard will guide you through the creation of your email address:
- enter the desired email address ( only what comes before the at sign , e.g. your first name — the domain name is already specified and any aliases are visible by hovering over it
)
- click on the continue button
- depending on the intended use, choose the user concerned by the creation of the address...
... for yourself
In this case, the wizard will ask you to choose a secure password .
Then the email address is created, automatically added to your kMail Webmail (accessible via the top right of the screen) and immediately available to work with any email software/application .
... for one or more users
In this case the wizard offers you to continue (blue button at the bottom right) or to continue without invitation (blue link below — the following steps will be the same as above but without the automatic addition to your Webmail) .
If you click on the blue Continue button , you must indicate the user for whom the email address is intended:
- indicate the name of the user already existing in your organization or an email address of an external user
- you can repeat the operation to add several users who will be displayed in a table
- if you add only one external user, you must choose how they should log in to use the email, which will determine whether or not the password is displayed (step 5 below):

- if necessary, specify the permissions of the users (automatically taken from the global configuration ) in particular the permission to modify the password afterwards:
- click continue
- depending on choice 2.1 above, a secure automatically generated password may be displayed
- the users mentioned in step 1+2 above receive an e-mail informing them of the creation of the e-mail address and inviting them to connect to Infomaniak
You can change user permissions at any time from your Service Mail.
Example of creation for only 1 other user
Your goal is to create the "camille@domain.xyz" address for one of your friends:
- start the address creation wizard on the Mail Service "domain.xyz"
- enter the term "camille"
- choose to create the email address for others
- enter the personal email address of your friend Camille in order to invite him to use the address
- under Advanced Options choose to use the email address soon created as the login username (left option)
- no password is requested or displayed
- Camille receives an e-mail on her personal address informing her of the operation and inviting her to click
- he follows the account creation wizard and must enter a name, surname and personal telephone number
- to complete the creation of his user account, he must choose a password (which will allow him to connect to this user account and, if necessary, to link the email address to other applications or Webmail accounts)
- once connected, he arrives on kMail and can use the email address camille@domain.xyz automatically attached to his Webmail
Additional Actions
From the Create an email address button , there are two additional actions:
- Create a generic e-mail address of the type : no-reply (for sending confirmation, validation, invoice, etc.) and catchall (allows you to receive all messages for which there is no specific address on your domain)
- Create several email addresses : allows you to create several email addresses at once using a CSV file
To delete an email address
- connect to your Infomaniak space ( manager.infomaniak.com )
- go to
Service Mail
- click on the Mail Service/domain name concerned
- from the Mail Service dashboard, click on the icon
to the far right of the email address concerned
- select
Delete email address , enter your password for connecting to your Infomaniak account, tick the box then click on the Delete email address button
You can also remove email addresses in batch:
- click on the box at the top of the column
