FTP access with software
This guide explains how to manage files from web hosting with FTP software like Filezilla or Cyberduck.
However, except in special cases, we advise you to manage the files of your web hosting with our online FTP Manager . The latter notably allows CHOWN and supports ZIP compression/decompression on the file server.
This information is provided for information only; the services offered by Infomaniak work with most consumer external solutions. What settings for FTP software?
Regardless of your FTP client, the settings for configuring FTP access are always the same:
- an FTP server name as the FTP host (e.g.: xyzb.ftp.infomaniak.com)
- the FTP user (ex.: xxxx_user) to create on your Manager (read below)
- the FTP user's password (defined by the FTP account creator)
You will find all these settings in your Manager:
- open the Manager ( manager.infomaniak.com )
- go to Web Hosting
- click on the hosting/domain name concerned
- in the left side panel, click on FTP/SSH
