The error reporting level is set to "warn" in order to report emergencies, alerts, critical conditions, error conditions and warning conditions.
You can also define a log file for the error_log() function so as to store the errors in a separate file. Please refer to the PHP documentation for this purpose. It is necessary that the httpd account (i.e. the apache server) can write within the website's location to be able to create/add logs to the file concerned. For example, here is the code to add the contents of the $error_log variable to an error.log file at the root of the site:
error_log($error_log, 3, $_SERVER[DOCUMENT_ROOT] . "/error.log");
