Support for mail function() / Sending an email in PHP
It is possible to send emails from a website hosted by Infomaniak by using the PHP mail() function even if you have a web hosting without a messaging service.
- It is not necessary to specify a sender email address (leave the relevant field empty) !
- If you are using a script or a CMS which does not allow you to leave the sender field empty with the PHP mail function(), it is possible to ensure they are sent via SMTP as for a messaging software by specifying an email address hosted with Infomaniak).
- When it comes to your Perl scripts only, it is possible to use the sendmail() function (the pathway in this case being "/usr/sbin/sendmail") or alternatively use a SMTP server (for example mail.infomaniak.com, but in that case emails will have to be sent authenticated with an email account hosted by Infomaniak)
