Swiss Backup: create a free location to connect via FTP / SFTP
This guide explains how to create a free storage space to use the FTP / SFTP with Swiss Backup, the Swiss backup solution from Infomaniak.
Access your Swiss Backup and add a device
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to Swiss Backup
- Click on the backup space you want
- Click on Add a device
Select a device type
- Select Free storage space SWIFT / S3 / FTP
- Select the person who will manage the device
- Select FTP as the location type
- Give the device a name
- Allocate disk space for that location
- Click on creating the location
Warning: to successfully transfer a file from a FTP / SFTP connection, the file size must not exceed 200Gb
Connect to the FTP via FileZilla or Cyberduck
Once the location has been created and set up, the following programs can be used to connect to the FTP and perform backups:
