kDrive: adding / blocking / removing a user
This guide explains how to add, block or remove a user from a Drive. To learn more about the operation and management of user rights, please consult this guide.
Adding a user
The user must have an Infomaniak account to access kDrive. This is entirely free of charge. To start the creation procedure, click here.
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to kDrive
- Click Invite a user via the Dashboard
- Enter the email address of the user to invite and specify their rights
- Click Invite
The user will then receive an email that will allow them to accept the invitation. They will then be prompted to download the sync application to access the content of your Drive.
Blocking a user
This feature enables you to prevent a user from accessing the files of a Drive via the web interface (drive.infomaniak.com) and from their devices.
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to kDrive
- Open the menu of user actions to be blocked and click Block user access
- Click Block the user to confirm the action
To unblock a user, simply follow the same procedure.
Removing a user from a Drive
If a user leaves your company or your team, you have several available options as administrator. You can choose to:
- block the user during a certain period (see above)
- completely remove the user and their files
- remove the user and save their files for 6 months
- remove the user and transfer their files to another user
Actions to follow to remove a user:
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com)
- Go to kDrive
- Open the action menu of the user to be removed and click Remove the user
- Choose to save or not save the user's data:
- Save the user's files for 6 months or transfer them to another user
- Delete the user's files immediately and definitively
- Click Remove
