Link a domain name to Jeedom
This guide explains how to access your Jeedom home automation box (which is behind a dynamic IP address provided by your ISP) with a domain name from Infomaniak using the free DynDNS option.
This information is provided for reference purposes only; the services offered by Infomaniak work with most common external solutions. We do not provide support for the use of these external solutions. Please contact the publisher of the external service in case of any issues or one of our partners. Learn more: The role of a host
Prerequisites
- Own a Jeedom connected to the Internet with a dynamic IP address.
- A dynamic DNS must have been created on the relevant domain.
Linking Jeedom to a domain name
- Install the official and free DynDNS version beta plugin on your Jeedom application from the Market.
- Activate the plugin as usual.
- Configure a new device by choosing Infomaniak from the list of services.
- Enter the domain configured in the Infomaniak Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS (help).
- Enter the username defined in the Infomaniak Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS (help).
- Enter the password defined in the Infomaniak Manager when adding the Dynamic DNS (help).
Jeedom will check the external IP every 15 minutes, and if it has changed, the DNS will be updated.
Thus, your domain name will continuously point to your Jeedom even if your Internet Service Provider changes your public IP address.
