Transfer a WordPress site (with All-in-One WP Migration)
This guide explains how to transfer a WordPress website using one of its extensions, All-in-One WP Migration.
Prerequisites
- Order web hosting / Cloud Server if you don't have one yet
- Create a site on your new hosting by choosing to install WordPress Infomaniak (option offered when adding a site - you can also install a WordPress site after creating a blank site)
Full Backup of the WordPress Site
To back up all files and the database of an existing WordPress site:
- Install and activate the All-in-One WP Migration extension from the WordPress administration console of the current site
- Go to the dashboard of the newly installed extension
- Click on Export
- Download the exported archive
Site Restoration
As specified in the prerequisite above, install a new WordPress on your Infomaniak web hosting and then:
- Install and activate the All-in-One WP Migration extension from the administration console of the new WordPress (as explained in the video below, it is sometimes necessary to use the preview URL to log in to the new site, for example, if the domain is being transferred)
- Go to the dashboard of the newly installed extension
- Click to import a file, in this case, the exported archive of your previous WordPress site
- If the archive is large, you need to increase, in the website settings, the value of the maximum allowed size for imports on the server

- Once the site is reimported, don't forget to reconfigure the main site address on the Infomaniak side:
- And when conditions permit (e.g., domain transfer completed), install an SSL certificate and check again point 4 above to select the address https://
