Importing a MySQL database on the server
A MySQL database is generally exported and imported in the form of an SQL file, usually with a ".sql" extension. It can happen however that this extension isn't specified, which isn't normally a problem.
Once you have this file, you can import it on our servers from within phpMyAdmin by clicking on the name of the database in question (left hand column) followed by the "Import" tab.
Make sure the file's character set is the same for the import as it was for the export, or else special characters will be incorrectly encoded and will create display errors on your website (with the accents for example).
If this operation returns a 503 error, it's probably because your database is too big to be imported in this way.
In that case, please read this FAQ (click here).
