Moving Wordpress to the root of your hosting space after installing it in a subfolder
The WordPress installation is unzipped in a directory named "wordpress" by default. If you wish to use WordPress at the root of your site, you must move it. It is best to do so in the early stages of use to avoid any issues following the move.
Actions to be carried out
Log into your Wordpress control panel
Click on Settings -> General
Remove /wordpress from the site address field
Log into your hosting space via FTP
Copy .htaccess and index.php from /wordpress to root
Edit the copy of index.php located in the root directory and specify
That's it: your site will now be visible without the "/wordpress" part of the URL
The administration page may still be accessed via "/wordpress/wp-admin"
