Joomla: changing the URL or the placement of the Web Application
This guide explains how to change the placement of Joomla, one of the Web Apps we offer with easy installation on our hostings.
- Open the Manager (manager.infomaniak.com/)
- go to Web Hosting
- click on the hosting/the domain name concerned
- Under Sites, click on the domain name of the site concerned
- Click on Advanced Settings
- Change the target directory of the site, for example: http://domainexample.com/ from "/web" to "/web/portal" so that http://domainexample.com/ points to the location where the Joomla files are actually located (help)
- Save the changes
- Login to the FTP (help)
- Edit the .htaccess file which is located in "/web/portal/.htaccess"
- replace "RewriteBase /portal" with "RewriteBase /"
- Save the changes
- return to the Manager (as in point 3 above) and in the left side panel, click on WordPress >Apps
- click on the Configurebutton of the installed application
- In the "Public Address" field, change the URL from "http://domainexample.com/portal" to "http://domainexample.com/"
