Message headers: Spam score
The "spam score" is a quantifiable numerical result that spam filtersarrive at via a series of tests conducted on incoming and outgoing e-mails.It allows spam filters to determine if an e-mail scanned by the filter at alater stage should be classed as spam.
The higher the "spam score", the more likely it is that the e-mail will be classed as spam. A messageis deemed to be spam when the value is greater or equal to 100.
The features analysed are generally as follows:
- Visiblecontent: words and characters used along with certain formatting
- E-mail addresses, domain names or IP addresses on various "Blacklists"
