[WORDPRESS] Setting up a new installation
We recommend using our new platform (migrate if necessary) which greatly simplifies the use of WordPress, via My Easy Site, a tool to install this CMS ina few clicks.
The following guide is in no way intended to replace the official documentation. We cannot provide support for installation and configuration errors.
Actions to be carried out
Download the latest version of Wordpress to your computer
Log into your Infomaniak admin console Click on FTP -> File Manager
Log in using your usual FTP login
Upload the .zip to the required place on the server
Unzip the archive, vous will get a "/wordpress" directory
Open a tab and enter the URL of the location that the zip was unpacked to
Click on "Create configuration file"
Click on "It's gone"
Return to the admin console and under Tools -> Databases
Create a database and database user
Enter this information into the configuration assistant
Click on "Submit"
Copy the text suggested for filling in the configuration file
Return to the file manager
Paste the text into a new file called "wp-config.php"
Return to the Wordpress assistant and click on "Start Installation"
Fill in the details for the name for your site, admin password etc.
Click on "Install Wordpress"
You can now log in and start use
Go back to the file manager
Go into your "wp-content" directory
Create a directory called "uploads"
Give it CHMOD 777 permissions
