Infomaniak Mail: protect yourself against phishing scams
This guide explains how to send us a phishing attempt for which you were the intended victim.
Phishing is a technique used by fraudsters to obtain confidential information about their victims which they can then exploit. In order to do this, the fraudsters contact their victims on various pretexts, by impersonating a third party which their victim might trust (Infomaniak, your bank, an e-commerce site…)
Generally speaking, the victim receives an email in their inbox that appears to come from Infomaniak, their bank or a trusted organisation alerting them to an issue that has arisen with their account. Expired products, blocked accounts, stolen old passwords, allegedly hacked computers, intimate videos that are threatened to be shared with their contacts: everything is done to "fish" (hence the expression "phishing") for your personal information or money.
We have put in place measures to allow you to send us these emails in a few clicks so that the necessary action can be taken.
Report a phishing attempt
- Log in to Infomaniak Mail (mail.infomaniak.com)
- Go to the suspicious email in question and click on the icon in the top right
- In the menu that appears, select Report as phishing
- Delete the email
Once you have clicked on Report as phishing, an email will automatically be sent to our support team with all the information needed to process the report.
