FTP Manager: Accessing the FTP server/on-line file manager
This guide explains how to use our FTP file Manager, which makes it simple for you to manage the contents of your hostings:
- Creating files
- Browsing the directory
- Transferring files between your computer and the server
- Manipulating existing files (copy, rename, move, delete, etc.)
- Editing and previewing text, html, and php files under 1 MB
Accessing the FTP Manager:
- Open the FTP Manager: https://manager.infomaniak.com/ftp
- In the fields at the top of the page, enter the address of your Web server ** (eg .: xxxx.ftp.infomaniak.com) or the name of your site if it has a domain that is configured correctly
- Enter the username and password of a valid FTP account for the domain (help)
With some servers, the login fields arae pre-populated, particularly the FTP user name with your email address. This may not work and it is important to clear the browser cache or change this address.
Finding the Web server address:
- Open the Manager: https://manager.infomaniak.com
- Go to Web Hosting
- Click on the hosting/domain name in question
- The web server is indicated in the gray box, in the following form, for example: xxxx.ftp.infomaniak.com
Sending multiple files
It is not possible to upload files because of the upload via Flash and HTML5, which do not allow it. Multiple file selection is possible, which lets you upload a large number of files at one time into a folder created ahead of time. You can also send a zipped folder (.zip) to be extracted once on the server, from the same FTP Manager tool.
