Changing the session time
To modify the length of sessions, in addition to adjusting the life duration of cookies and the cache, it's also possible to play with the length of time beyond which PHP considers the session data as obsolete with session.gc_maxlifetime.
This parameter can be changed by inserting the following lines in the .htaccess file located at the root of your hosting:
php_value session.gc_maxlifetime ...
Sessions are stored in a /tmp folder (learn more). Since the /tmp folder isn't specific to each vhost, we recommend using another tmp or temp folder specific to the hosting, such as the data directory within the storage space for example, or create a sub-directory under data if necessary for each application's sessions.
