Knowledge base

Welcome to Infomaniak Network's support centre. In the following you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions

Joomla versions 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5.x are compatible with the hosting services we offer, as Mambo/MOS used to be, but they require a certain amount of techincal knowledge for installing it (for example you should know how to change the CHMOD for certain files using FTP, how to create a database in our admin console and depending on your needs, you will have to modify some settings on the server using an .htaccess file.

This is why we have provided you with a dynamic guide that shows you how Joomla is installed (v1.5.15 in the example) on our servers (click here to download Joomla), but in no case does is it a substitute for the official guides that you should read and be familiar with. Please take a look at the different sites and forums on this subject, like Joomla.fr which we recommend, especially if your system is not working as intended, as we cannot provide you with support for errors of this type.

For Joomla warnings concerning Magic Quotes and Register Globals, this is what your .htaccess file should contain depending on the desired results :
php_value magic_quotes_gpc "1"
php_value register_globals "0"

As a minimum you should at least have the following before following the instructions:
  • the name of the user who has all the rights to the admin console and the password
  • FTP administrator access details
  • You should be able to extract a ZIP file.
